The energy company Knollwood was using replaced the gas meter because the original meter had died. With the new meter, the energy bill tripled and continued to rise until it quadrupled 9 months later. Performance noticed the discrepancy right away on the first bill received after the meter changed and requested a re-read. The energy company went out and said the meter was good. Performance persisted for 9 months as we noticed each month that the bill kept increasing. The energy company claimed that original meter was bad and the new meter was reading correctly. Unsatisfied with this answer, Performance demanded that the meter be changed. When the meter was finally changed, the energy bill went back to average. With all the facts in place, Knollwood was able to get a $15k refund.

Once Sadosa’s (previously known as Eastland Apartments) energy contract had expired with their energy company, the energy charge doubled. Performance worked closely with the energy company to reconcile the costs and then transferred service to a new energy company that is now saving Sadosa over $2k per month compared to the previous company’s invoices.

For 2 years, Sunset Canyon’s energy company had been charging the property with sales tax. Perofmrance went back and calculated the amount they were overcharged, put in a request for credit for the amount of the sales tax overcharge and recovered over $2K for Sunset Canyon.
